EVE 6 Newsletter 7/24/99 Hello everybody! Once again, I, Tony, am bringing you news and good cheer over the computer with the latest newsletter. First of all, a heartfelt thanks to all of the get well wishes for Max and "happy birthdays" for me. Max did not need surgery, so it turns out, but he has been resting and taking vocal therapy for several weeks. He is just about all better, you'll be happy to know, and what that means, well, you'll just have to keep reading. As always, we read every piece of mail we get, and as always, not one goes unappreciated. If I sound particularly happy in this newsletter, it's because I'm now 21. 'Nuff said. Well, it's been a few weeks since my last letter, so let's get to it. We've been resting comfortably at home for two months, but now there's some cool stuff going on.

As some of you have already heard, "Tonguetied", track 8 from the CD, is being featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming Kevin Williamson movie, "Teaching Mrs. Tingle", starring Katie Holmes ("Dawson's Creek") and Barry Watson ("7th Heaven"), among others. Kevin Williamson is the guy who wrote "Scream" and "Scream 2", "I Know What You Did Last Summer", and created "Dawson's Creek". We just shot a video for the song along with the actors from the movie (who were all very cool) at Venice High School, where the movie "Grease" was shot (and, um, the Britney Spears video too...). I just saw the rough cut of our video today, and it looks awesome (like, our best one yet). Be ready for the video, the song, and the movie sometime in late August.

We are doing some mild touring in August to get back in band mode so we can record Album #2 in the fall. Max's voice is fine now, and we shouldn't have this problem ever again. I'm not sure of exact dates beyond August 14th, but here's the idea:

  • Aug. 6th --- KAEP Peakfest, Spokane, WA.
  • Aug. 7th --- 107.7 "The End" Endfest, Seattle, WA.
  • Aug. 8th --- KNRK Fest, Portland, OR.
  • Aug. 13th --- Headlining show put on by Coca-Cola, Buffalo, NY.
  • Aug. 14th --- " ", Rochester, NY.
  • Aug. 18th-22nd? -- Radio show, Kerrang show in London, UK
  • Aug. 23rd-Sept. 1st -- More Coke shows on west coast (not sure of cities)

Now I'm not exactly sure what these "Coca-Cola shows" are, but I do know that we are headlining (no opener yet), and that tickets don't actually go on sale for them; you have to win tickets by being one of the first thousand callers through Coke Cards (?) or your local radio station. I'll write an addendum for this on Monday when I get the details.

I have not personally seen it, but many people have told me that MTV, as part of "All Access Week", is airing highlights of the June 5th Atlanta Hard Rock Rockfest (where we played to 130,000 people), and our performance of "Inside Out" is one of 'em. Check it out!

Our acoustic-esque version of the Pixies' "Allison" is the first track on a Pixies tribute album released by an independent label. Look for it in smaller record stores or on the web.

Our new website has been put on hold temporarily while we handle this sudden "Tonguetied" business, but it will be finished soon. In the meantime, check out www.eve6.com to see the "Open Road Song" video in it's entirety, more footage from the San Francisco Fillmore Theater show, newer road pics and interviews, etc.

The Official Eve 6 Transcription and Guitar Tab book is available in stores now, published by Hal Leonard. It's got the entire album in there, and from flipping through it, it seems pretty accurate. Your local music dealer should have it.

We're close to finding the right people to helm the Official Eve 6 Fan Club. I'll keep you posted.

That's about it for now. I'll write back with more tour details as they arise (I doubt Pollstar will have it up yet). Thanks for being such good fans and sticking with us; now we're ready to kick your asses a little more before we go into Studioland for a couple months. Here we go! Later!

Addendum:

First off, yes, it was me that wrote the last newsletter that came from "FnkyBiotch". However, I was only on that screenname temporarily while we updated "Eve6music". "Eve6music" is back and is still our only screenname, and any mails sent to "FnkyBiotch" will be thrown out. So direct all email here to "Eve6music".

OK, so here's a little more information for ya.

Our exact tour dates are as follows:

  • 8/6 Spokane, WA (Peakfest)
  • 8/7 Seattle, WA (Endfest)
  • 8/8 Portland, OR (KNRK fest)
  • 8/13 Buffalo, NY
  • 8/14 Rochester, NY
  • 8/20 London, UK club date (Kerrang)
  • 8/21 Chelmsford, UK V '99 festival
  • 8/22 Staffordshire, UK V '99 festival
  • 8/24 Albuquerque, NM
  • 8/26 Salt Lake City, UT
  • 8/28 Seattle, WA
  • 8/30 Sacramento, CA
  • 8/31 San Francisco, CA
In addition, something I forgot to mention is that on August 17th we're doing an online chat at 6PM West Coast time. The band "The Flys" are going to be interviewing us. Go to www.sonicnet.com for more info.

That's it. See ya in August!
